Hi, I'm Claire

ABOUT ME

Hello and welcome! I’m Claire, a registered nurse and certified yoga teacher specializing in the management of fibromyalgia and chronic pain. My journey with fibromyalgia began in 2006, when I was first diagnosed with this challenging condition. At that time, I felt overwhelmed and lost, grappling with persistent pain and a lack of effective treatment options from the healthcare professionals I consulted.

My path to becoming a registered nurse and a certified yin yoga teacher specializing in fibromyalgia and chronic pain management has been deeply personal and transformative. It all began in 2006 when I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. The diagnosis was overwhelming, and I struggled to find relief from the persistent pain and debilitating symptoms.

Despite my efforts to seek help from various doctors and specialists, the treatments available at the time offered little in the way of real solutions. I felt lost and frustrated, unsure of how to manage my condition and reclaim my life.

My Journey

I began exploring alternative approaches to pain management. It was during this period of exploration that I discovered the profound benefits of yoga. The practice offered me a new way to connect with my body, manage stress, and alleviate pain. I immersed myself in learning about yoga and its therapeutic potential, eventually becoming a yoga teacher, and also became certified in yin yoga.

Alongside my yoga practice, I made significant lifestyle changes that further helped me manage my symptoms. These changes included dietary changes, prioritizing sleep, and incorporating mindfulness techniques into my daily life. Over time, I noticed a substantial reduction in my pain and an improvement in my overall well-being.

Drawing on my nursing background, I began to integrate my medical knowledge with my personal experiences to better understand and manage fibromyalgia. This unique combination of skills and insights led me to specialize in chronic pain management, with a focus on helping others navigate their own challenges with fibromyalgia.
